Hi Folks,  In 1980 I started an oil company with the help of my loving wife Donna.  With $3000.00, I bought a  1964 White oil truck and a load of oil from Quincy Oil Co.
Now after 36 years, I am proud to announce that I have sold my oil company to my sons Richard and Christopher. I have the deepest confidence in both of them.  They have been involved in the business since they were kids.  They did whatever they could to make my work a little easier.  Both know the business from the bottom up.  They have done it all.
My wife Donna has worked right along with me since we started the business.  I could not have been so successful without her.  Donna will still be involved in the daily operation of the business.  The woman refuses to get old.
I hope to help my boys in any way I can but they will be in control of everything.

I would like to thank everyone that I have had the pleasure to meet in this business.  I wish all of you good  health, happiness and success at whatever you do.

Rick's Outlook
Hi Folks,
A barrel of oil has hit a new low for the year.  This proves the price of oil is not immune to the economic problems of the world.  The old saying of high prices cure high prices is still true.  I don't see a fast change in the economic climate of the world and I don't see a rebound in the price of oil in the near term.  People are conserving.  Our installations of new more efficient equipment are up over last year.  We also see our customers are using less oil.  Conservation is having an effect on prices.  Keep it up and the price of oil might stabilize at a more realistic price.

Rick's Outlook

Hi Folks,
OPEC is meeting this week.  They are trying to stop the slide in oil prices.  It's anyone's guess if a production cut by OPEC will alter the price of oil.  The members are famous for cheating to prop up their own economy.  Iran and Venezuela are the biggest cheaters.  It takes a lot of money for Iran to run a nuclear program.  Venezuela can't handle a decrease in revenues so I don't see either of them honoring a cut back in oil production.
On another note, there are a lot of scams on the internet.  Be careful of ads that sound too good to be true.  They usually are too good to be true.  Make sure you are dealing with a real oil company.  Enough said about that subject.
I'm still preaching conservation.  Leaky windows and doors are one of the biggest culprits of energy loss.  Retail stores sell clear plastic window insulation that works very well.  We have seen first hand the great results from this inexpensive conservation measure.  It's a simple fix to save some heat.

Rick's Outlook
Hi Folks,
This week has seen a big decline in oil prices.  Oil is now sliding back towards the low for the year.  The old saying "high prices cure high prices" is still true.
In other developments, we are constantly looking at new products that relate to the oil business.  One promising new product is the Intellicon control (click here).  It has three different versions - hot water, hot air and A/C.  My son, Chris, installed it last week on my boiler.  Chris has become quite the expert on controls and how they function.  This control advertises that it can cut your heating bills by 10-20%.  We'll keep you posted on the results.
